Photo Albums
I have collected a number of photos over the years. Some were posted on Photopoint when that company went bankrupt. I have started rebuilding some of those files and captions through various photo album programs. Here are the ones I have currently posted:
Maps of SEA in the 1960s: These are some images I collected through the Air War College when I was trying to get my writing project, Crickets on a Steel Tiger, declassified and published in a form similar to the Southeast Asia Monograph Series.
The TLC Brotherhood Visits The Wall 1999: These photos were taken at the second TLC Brotherhood Reunion (I count the first as Dayton in 1998, which occurred before the TLC Brotherhood incorporated as an official organization) when we gathered in Washington, D.C., and visited The Wall a couple of times.
Thailand 2000: These photos were taken in August and September 2000 on a return to Thailand. Our party included John and Nancy Sweet, Wendy Liles, and Les Thompson and his son-in-law Paul.
Lao-Hmong Recognition Day on 21 July 2002: These were taken in Golden, Colorado and include a number showing the colorful traditional dress of the Hmong people from Northern Laos.
Southeast Asia in the 1960s: I've finally restored the very popular album (seems like the Photopoint version of the album had been visited more than 16,000 times) of photos I had collected from the 1960s in Southeast Asia. Some are pictures I collected during my research at the Air War College. Some were sent to me by other FACs during that research. A few are from other members of the TLC Brotherhood. I hope to add many more in the future.
More SEA in the 60s: I've started scanning other photos in my collection and have added more than 50 pictures to this new album. In the captions I try to tell more of a story than you can get from just looking at the picture.
POW/MIA Day 2002 at Colorado Springs: On 20 September 2002, the University of Colorado at Colorado Springs hosted a ceremony for the National Prisoner of War (POW) & Missing in Action (MIA) Recognition Day. These photos show various aspects of the ceremony.
Fallen Fire Fighter Memorial 2002 Observance in Colorado Springs: On Saturday afternoon, 21 September 2002, thousands of people gather to honor the 426 fire fighters who lost their lives in the line of duty since names were added to the memorial wall in 2001. I have added a number of pictures to represent the spirit of the observance.
Camaraderie: The Golden Boys of the Class of 1963 Gather at the USAFA-USNA Football Game, 5 October 2002: In this 39th year following our graduation as the 5th class at the US Air Force Academy, we come together again for a football game against a service academy rival and for a solemn memorial ceremony to remember classmates who have passed since last year. I've included 63 photos for the Class of '63.
