Khe Sanh: Seige of 1968
This aerial view of the US Marine Corps base under siege may have been taken from one of the OP-2Es that were diverted from dropping sensors along the Ho Chi Minh Trail. The Navy crews of VO-67 dropped many sensors around the beleaguered base. Signals from the sensors were used for real-time targeting of artillery and tactical airstrikes to protect the base.
