The Cessna O-1 Bird Dog on a mission over Laos. We called it the Fastest Fixed Gear Fighter in the inventory. Note the minimal markings, small star, etc., which characterized the birds of the 23rd TASS flying out of NKP Thailand. Other characteristics were slow speed and tail wheel. With the inherent instability of a tail dragger, the O-1 was sometimes more difficult to handle on the ground than in the air.
