Starlight Scope
Designed to be mounted on hand-held weapons such as the M-16, these starlight scopes were taken airborne to help steal the darkness from the truckers on the Trail. By amplifying available light many thousands of times, the scope allowed the fliers to see either the small amounts of light given out by shielded headlights or see the dark rectangles on the light-colored ribbons of road on nights when enough moonlight let the truckers drive without lights.
