37mm Antiaircraft Artillery Shell

Most men who flew regularly over North Vietnam or Steel Tiger in Laos had hundreds of these shells fired at them. The explosive shell could be expected to blow a hole maybe 3 to 4 feet in diameter. FACs knew there weren’t many places you could give up that much of a Bird Dog (O-1) or Super Skymaster (O-2A) and still keep flying.
