Commander with his troops
Lt. Col David S. Pallister, Commander of the 23rd Tactical Air Support Squadron, kneels between 23rd TASS Chief of Maintenance Major Comean and Chief Janesik. Names from the Maintenance troops in the second row appear to be: TSgt Pyle, Chief Anthes, MSgt Beal, A1C Flours, SSgt Knight(??)and SSgt Elvig. The black Cricket stenciled on the vertical stabilizer of the O-1 Bird Dog in the background marks it as a 23rd TASS bird. PSP and two of the squadron’s open ended MX hangars are visible. I’m guessing this photo was taken in celebration of the 23rd TASS’s 1000th sortie in a row without a maintenance abort. Good troops and good maintenance!
